Youngblood Cosmetics Summer Preview

Youngblood Cosmetics always has awesome new skews being released! This summer they’re going to be releasing some pretty awesome lip gels and cream blushes.

The gloss line is called Might Shiny Lip Gel and comes in Confessed (sheer watermelon-red), Revealed (sheer peach-pink), Stripped (clear iridescent shimmer), Exposed (sheer grape), Displayed (sheer orange-red with gold shimmer), and Unveiled (sheer shimmer bright pink).

Two new blushes are being added as well! Plum Satin (rose-berry shade with shimmer) and Pink Cashmere (matte carnation pink).

Um hello, of course I’m excited! Everyone knows how much I love Youngblood! And if you don’t you have to read back on other blog entries I’ve done on this brand and then go buy all of the products.

Pink Cashmere Creme Blush and the glosses: Confessed & Revealed

How cool are the tubes and applicators. Simple but high quality.

As you recall I love Youngblood’s creme blushes so now having a new one to use makes me a happy camper. Now I have both a shimmery and matte blush of theirs. What I love about cream blush is that it’s easy to apply and doesn’t disappear as the day moves forward. If you’ve never tried cream blush, you’re missing out and I recommend you go online or to one of the stores that sells this brand and get yourself some! These retail for $27 and are .21 oz; a looot of product as you can see by the picture.

Glosses are typically not my thing, but I couldn’t resist such nice sheer colors and now want more! The lip gels retail for $25.50 and are .25 oz – also a lot of product in these tubes!

Things to find in the blush are Vitamin C and E, Allantoin and Jojoba Esters. The Lip Gels include Momordica Grosvenorii Fruit Extract (Longevity Fruit), Jojoba Seed Oil, Meadowfoam Seed Oil, and Sweet Almond Oil.

The new products are being made available June 1st on their website, NewBeauty at Fred Segal Santa Monica,  Henri Bendel New York and certain spas.

Make Up For Ever Blush Powder Irish Green 93

MUFE green blush!? Really? It’s a beautiful green, I must say. I had been looking for a beautiful teal green for an eyeshadow or “Irish Green” and when I first picked it up a few months ago I didn’t really pay attention to the fact that it’s a blush rather than a shadow, but that’s fine with me! Make Up For Ever doesn’t carry the same beautiful green in shadows; I would say it falls somewhere in between their “Turquoise Shimmer” and “Turquoise Matte.” Irish Green is a matte blush, that I’ve yet to ever use as blush, perhaps one of these days I’ll “go wild” so to speak and try it in that form, for now I use this product as an eyeshadow.

What do you think, beautiful or what? But, does it work as an eyeshadow? I would say it’s more of a day shadow than an evening one for sure. The pay off isn’t great, but that could be because of the fact that it’s meant to be a bit more sheer blush than shadow. It comes off through out the day, but I wet the brush before applying because it has a little more give that way and I’m sure if you were to use primer it would be more effective. I’ll definitely continue to be on the look out for a better shadow in the same green as this, I love it, it’s in season and it will be wonderful for the summer as well.

I hope all of you have a great Easter Sunday!!!

Josie Maran Cosmetics Cream Blush

Josie Maran Cosmetics hasn’t really been talked about here, since as some of you know I have been interning there. Since my internship is about to end I decided it’s ok now to tell you about some products I like of theirs. This time I found a blush (note my header) that I really love of theirs, the Sunset Cream Blush.

Argan-Cream-Blush-Sunset

Argan Cream Blush

It comes in Sunset (the one I use and is shown above), Sunrise and Sun Kissed, which are richer colors. It runs for 22$ and before I was gifted the Taffeta Cream Blush, which Youngblood is releasing in their Spring line, I hadn’t found anything like it. It’s sold at some Sephoras, the website and the Josie website. Powder usually has made me look blotchy and so I was on the hunt for a creamy blush to try out. When I was in school last quarter I had some research to do on Josie Maran and bam found this product. I headed into Sephora and purchased it to give it a try. On the picture the casing is more rose colored than mine is in real life, but it could be a different casing as I’ve had mine for awhile now and things change, however the size is the same. It’s a small cute little compact with a mirror that snaps closed. Usually the best guess is if your casing is simple more monies went into the actual fill. I’m nearly done with it because I use it so much! I do wish it was a little bigger or taller with more fill, since it’s something I use a lot and go through quickly. The fact that it’s a cream fill runs out faster than a powder blush that is usually in a bigger compact! So that’s my only complaint, and you guys know me I’m super honest about whether or not I love something or not, has nothing to do with where I am working or interning etc…

Here the blush is rubbed in and you see the Stila brush that I gush about and use with it.

Oscars 2012 Makeup

The 2012 Oscars!

Did you ladies watch? I’m a fan of Billy Crystal so I made sure to watch. I was so excited haha. I also adore Miss Piggy so I’m glad I didn’t miss her! This blog is just a quick overview of a few of the lovely ladies!

michelle-williams-oscars-2012

Michelle Williams

What does everyone thing of Michelle Williams in a coral dress, a bright pink lip, earthy eyes and a soft blush? – I actually think these colors on her make her look dewey and pretty. She has somewhat pasty skin and so it livens her up and the makeup being subtle but giving off a natural glow is perfect. If I were to remake her look without knowing what products were used on her I’d go with Youngblood Cosmetics Mascara, Stila Cosmetics Gel Liner, Josie Maran Cream Blush, Tarte Amazonian Clay in Fair, Youngblood Cosmetics Tinted Moisturizer and Impassioned to Shop from MAC.

VIOLA-DAVIS-oscars-2012

Viola Davis

I loooove that Viola Davis went in her own natural hair! I loooove loooove that! She looks beautiful like this, I mean seriously she should go with this look more often. Also a tealish green is beautiful on her. I.want.her.earrings! For the eye I would get MAC Zoom Lash Mascara, Tarte SmolderEyes Amazonian Clay in black, Turquoise Shimmer 83 from MUFE for eyeshadow, Smashbox HD D1 Foundation, Tarte Mineral Powder Bronzer and Dior Dior Addict Lipstick Sheer Peachy Pink.

Rose-Byrne-Oscars-2012

Rose Byrne

Rose Byrne went in a nude soft look, which was a nice offset to the black sparkly dress. Don’t you agree? Lips NARS Belle de Jour, NARS Soft Touch Eyeshadow Pencil in Aigle Noir, MAC Zoom Lash Mascara, Bare Minerals Golden Gate Blush, and Lorac Foundation.

Octavia-Spencer-Oscars-2012

The Big Winner, Octavia Spencer!!!

Oy! I was so moved by Octavia Spencer’s emotional acceptance speech! She was so adorable, surprised and her world was so obviously amazing at that moment. She couldn’t have a better reaction. I didn’t love her dress, but her face looked flawless. To recreate her look I’d use MUFE HD Invisible Cover Foundation, Josie Maran Beautiful Eyes Palette Eyeshadow, Lorac Ooh La Lace Baked Shimmer & Matte Eye Shadow Palette, Benefit Cosmetics High Beam, Yves Saint Laurent Créme Blush Silky Praline, and NARS Pure Matte Lip Madere.

Miss Piggy and Kermit

Miss PIGGY! She looks so pretty. Where do they find these wigs and clothes for her? I mean really she’s stylin’ for a Muppet. <3

Youngblood Cosmetics – Taffeta Cream Blush

Yay youngblood products! I got a hold of more Youngblood goodies. Well just some blush, but I’m super excited about it. I love cream blush and had been using Josie Maran, which I like very much as well, but am about to run out and got me some Youngblood to test out.

It comes in the colors above:

Champagne Life (a bubbly taupe with a shimmery sheen); Taffeta (a lustrous bubble gum pink) the one I got; Rose Quartz (a silvery petal-pink); and Tropical Glow (a peachy-pink tone with golden shimmer).

Youngblood

It’s shimmery, which is different than my previous blush, but I like it, however if you don’t like shimmer in your bronzer or blush, this is not for you and I would stick to the Youngblood pressed powders. I kind of guessed on what color would be good on me based on previous products and my skin tone and undertone. So far I guessed right…I looooove this color on me:

How the Taffeta Looks On Me (sorry for the super flat and messy hair)

Here I’m wearing the Taffeta alone with Youngblood bronzer and tinted moisturizer and the Josie Maran matchmaker liquid product. I like to go between Youngblood and Josie Maran tinted moisturizers as they are the ones that have worked best for me.

Some awesome things that the Youngblood product will have are Jojoba esters and Allotoin! I believe the cost is $27 here in the states and I know you’ll be able to find it Fred Segal in Santa Monica, California, Henri Bendel in New York some spas and salons and of course online and over the phone.
