Youngblood Cosmetics Summer Preview

Youngblood Cosmetics always has awesome new skews being released! This summer they’re going to be releasing some pretty awesome lip gels and cream blushes.

The gloss line is called Might Shiny Lip Gel and comes in Confessed (sheer watermelon-red), Revealed (sheer peach-pink), Stripped (clear iridescent shimmer), Exposed (sheer grape), Displayed (sheer orange-red with gold shimmer), and Unveiled (sheer shimmer bright pink).

Two new blushes are being added as well! Plum Satin (rose-berry shade with shimmer) and Pink Cashmere (matte carnation pink).

Um hello, of course I’m excited! Everyone knows how much I love Youngblood! And if you don’t you have to read back on other blog entries I’ve done on this brand and then go buy all of the products.

Pink Cashmere Creme Blush and the glosses: Confessed & Revealed

How cool are the tubes and applicators. Simple but high quality.

As you recall I love Youngblood’s creme blushes so now having a new one to use makes me a happy camper. Now I have both a shimmery and matte blush of theirs. What I love about cream blush is that it’s easy to apply and doesn’t disappear as the day moves forward. If you’ve never tried cream blush, you’re missing out and I recommend you go online or to one of the stores that sells this brand and get yourself some! These retail for $27 and are .21 oz; a looot of product as you can see by the picture.

Glosses are typically not my thing, but I couldn’t resist such nice sheer colors and now want more! The lip gels retail for $25.50 and are .25 oz – also a lot of product in these tubes!

Things to find in the blush are Vitamin C and E, Allantoin and Jojoba Esters. The Lip Gels include Momordica Grosvenorii Fruit Extract (Longevity Fruit), Jojoba Seed Oil, Meadowfoam Seed Oil, and Sweet Almond Oil.

The new products are being made available June 1st on their website, NewBeauty at Fred Segal Santa Monica,  Henri Bendel New York and certain spas.

Youngblood Cosmetics’ PR rep and myself have decided on who has won the giveaway and instead of making you wait an extra week we decided to go ahead and notify you today!

Our Giveaway Winner is:

Here is the answer she gave that stood out the most:

I love the simplicity of their website and the fact that the product was originally created for use in a medical setting, using higher standards than other makeup companies. I would also love to try their cream blush, I love the shimmer and that it is oil free.

I want to thank everyone who entered and who has started following my blog; I very much appreciate it and hope you continue to win!

Mad Men – Mystery Date – Joan’s Look and Awesomeness

Mad Men was on again last night! Ya’ll know what that means…I have to a. do a tiny recap and b. pick one of the beautiful women in the show and try to recreate her makeup look!

Spoiler Alert: skip if you haven’t watched!

Um did that Don scene make anyone else squirm a bit? Don worries me, especially because his psyche is all out of wack-dreaming such a thing! Even if he is sick! I read on tv-recaps that it was a parallel to the side story line of the Chicago murders and how the sole survivor hid under the bed…except for Don’s former lover was dead under the bed, with one shoe on – la Cinderella (theme of the episode).

Now to the beautiful Christina Hendricks’ character Joan! How proud is everyone of her today? I mean it’s about friggin’ time she put that  husband of hers in place. I mean who marries their rapist!? Anyway, I’m glad he’s not the baby daddy and that it’s Roger, even if he has his very very bad moments. Also how funny that Peggy made him shell out a bunch of cash. Go Peggy!!!!

Ok NOW to Joan’s Look!

Joan in the Mystery Date Episode

Let’s try to recreate Joan’s look:

Eyes: Incredible Wear Gel Liner by Youngblood Cosmetics in Eclipse — Tarte SmolderEYES in Bronze — Stila Eyeshadow in Poppy

Face: NARS Torrid Blush – Youngblood Pressed Powder Foundation in Barely Beige

Lips: Kat Von-D in A-Go-Go

Joan and her Mom

Let’s see… I don’t normally (in the last like 2 mad men posts, hah!) add a dress to go with the look, but I feel compelled!

Youngblood Cosmetics – Tarte Cosmetics – Smashbox Cosmetics and so on!

My Look For today

So these are all the products I’m wearing today! I love makeup and some days you just have to put on your face. I went to bed and woke up moody. Then someone put me in a worse mood! Awful! So what did I do, I made myself look pretty haha! Some of these are my favorite products…others are just what I have and don’t feel like replacing. Ahemjosielinerahem. And I know I have gushed about green primer to death, but it’s really helping me out today. I have some redness going on like crazy this week, and it’s super controlling that mess! How is your day going? Everyone treating you as they should? Do you use any of these products? If you don’t and I haven’t reviewed it… let me know and I will just for you 😉

Brands Include: Youngblood Cosmetics, Redhot Makeup, Josie Maran, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Tarte Cosmetics, and Smashbox Cosmetics.

Me Today 3/30/2012

Oscars 2012 Makeup

The 2012 Oscars!

Did you ladies watch? I’m a fan of Billy Crystal so I made sure to watch. I was so excited haha. I also adore Miss Piggy so I’m glad I didn’t miss her! This blog is just a quick overview of a few of the lovely ladies!

Michelle Williams

What does everyone thing of Michelle Williams in a coral dress, a bright pink lip, earthy eyes and a soft blush? – I actually think these colors on her make her look dewey and pretty. She has somewhat pasty skin and so it livens her up and the makeup being subtle but giving off a natural glow is perfect. If I were to remake her look without knowing what products were used on her I’d go with Youngblood Cosmetics Mascara, Stila Cosmetics Gel Liner, Josie Maran Cream Blush, Tarte Amazonian Clay in Fair, Youngblood Cosmetics Tinted Moisturizer and Impassioned to Shop from MAC.

Viola Davis

I loooove that Viola Davis went in her own natural hair! I loooove loooove that! She looks beautiful like this, I mean seriously she should go with this look more often. Also a tealish green is beautiful on her. I.want.her.earrings! For the eye I would get MAC Zoom Lash Mascara, Tarte SmolderEyes Amazonian Clay in black, Turquoise Shimmer 83 from MUFE for eyeshadow, Smashbox HD D1 Foundation, Tarte Mineral Powder Bronzer and Dior Dior Addict Lipstick Sheer Peachy Pink.

Rose Byrne

Rose Byrne went in a nude soft look, which was a nice offset to the black sparkly dress. Don’t you agree? Lips NARS Belle de Jour, NARS Soft Touch Eyeshadow Pencil in Aigle Noir, MAC Zoom Lash Mascara, Bare Minerals Golden Gate Blush, and Lorac Foundation.

The Big Winner, Octavia Spencer!!!

Oy! I was so moved by Octavia Spencer’s emotional acceptance speech! She was so adorable, surprised and her world was so obviously amazing at that moment. She couldn’t have a better reaction. I didn’t love her dress, but her face looked flawless. To recreate her look I’d use MUFE HD Invisible Cover Foundation, Josie Maran Beautiful Eyes Palette Eyeshadow, Lorac Ooh La Lace Baked Shimmer & Matte Eye Shadow Palette, Benefit Cosmetics High Beam, Yves Saint Laurent Créme Blush Silky Praline, and NARS Pure Matte Lip Madere.

Miss Piggy and Kermit

Miss PIGGY! She looks so pretty. Where do they find these wigs and clothes for her? I mean really she’s stylin’ for a Muppet. ❤

To find the products I mentioned above check out Sephora.com and YBSkin.com

Valentine’s Day – What are you doing?

Happy Valentine’s Day my lovely ladies!

How is everyone spending it? Me? I’m single, went to internship and then came home due to different reasons. Nothing special as I don’t have a significant other… *pouts and whimpers* <— and pity party over!

BUT I can pretend I would go out… so here is my fantasy look 😉

MAC Patina Eye Shadow

MAC Swish Eye Shadow

Stila Smudge Pot Liner

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pencil

MAC Cosmetics Zoom Lash

Youngblood Tinted Moisturizer

Josie Maran Matchmaker Foundation

Josie Maran Cream Blush

Youngblood Mineral Bronzer

Girl About Town - MAC

Batwing Dress

Nude Stockings

Indigo Vivi Frances Shoes

Out of all of these things all I’m missing is the beautiful dress and nude fishnet stockings! I absolutely NEED them! I’m not a fan of black stockings because I decided that with long dresses or skirts people look stocky. I am chubby and short enough as it is, I do not need extra help looking stocky! I saw a girl I’m in school with wearing nude ones and holy cow they were go. Do any of you own any? How much did they cost you? What look would you or did you go for today?

don’t be afraid to share links of what you did or would wear!

Youngblood Cosmetics – Taffeta Cream Blush

Yay youngblood products! I got a hold of more Youngblood goodies. Well just some blush, but I’m super excited about it. I love cream blush and had been using Josie Maran, which I like very much as well, but am about to run out and got me some Youngblood to test out.

It comes in the colors above:

Champagne Life (a bubbly taupe with a shimmery sheen); Taffeta (a lustrous bubble gum pink) the one I got; Rose Quartz (a silvery petal-pink); and Tropical Glow (a peachy-pink tone with golden shimmer).

Youngblood Taffeta Cream Blush

Luminous Blush

It’s shimmery, which is different than my previous blush, but I like it, however if you don’t like shimmer in your bronzer or blush, this is not for you and I would stick to the Youngblood pressed powders. I kind of guessed on what color would be good on me based on previous products and my skin tone and undertone. So far I guessed right…I looooove this color on me:

How the Taffeta Looks On Me (sorry for the super flat and messy hair)

Here I’m wearing the Taffeta alone with Youngblood bronzer and tinted moisturizer and the Josie Maran matchmaker liquid product. I like to go between Youngblood and Josie Maran tinted moisturizers as they are the ones that have worked best for me.

Some awesome things that the Youngblood product will have are Jojoba esters and Allotoin! I believe the cost is $27 here in the states and I know you’ll be able to find it Fred Segal in Santa Monica, California, Henri Bendel in New York some spas and salons and of course online and over the phone.
